The ultra-wide scope has some appeal.Īnd the slight curve, which is hard to tell from the photos, does pull you in. I’m running at 3840×1200 without any scaling and have no problems viewing the screen. I’m driving the monitor using a DisplayPort connection. My daily driver is a ThinkStation P340 Tiny with an NVidia Quadro Pro1000 card. The assembled unit definitely fills my desk. I use of the them to power a wireless charging pad.
The front of the monitor also has a drop down with an audio jack and 2 standard USB ports. The monitor has plenty of ports for my use and the shipment included enough cables for any configuration. This is not a high-end speaker by any means, but for video conferencing and YouTube, it meets my needs. The Legion module also includes a Harmon/Kardon speaker that you can fit around the base.
The base design is what adds a little gaming flair. Putting the monitor together was very easy. I didn’t want to wait, and the Legion version was a bit less expensive so that is what I ordered. And I can’t find it now in the Lenovo store. And now, as I write this, it looks like the ThinkVision ultra-wide has yet to be released. When I was shopping and comparing, the ThinkVision model was out-of-stock. One thing that might make a difference is that the ThinkVision model has software monitor controls whereas the Legion relies on buttons and menus. The ThinkVision model is a bit more corporate-looking, while the Legion model has a bit more style. The monitors are essentially the same, at least in terms of physical specifications. There is a ThinkVision branded model and a gaming model sold under the Legion nameplate. Lenovo makes a 44″ curved monitor in 2 flavors. I am a big Lenovo fan and user so I started looking there. But, I had been reading about people’s experiences with curved and ultra-wide monitors so I decided to give it a go.
I ran Windows 10 with an extended desktop so it was very easy to drag items between monitors. These are 27″ Lenovo ThinkVision monitors purchased a year or so apart. Here’s what happened.įor many years, I happily lived with 2 monitors. The bottom line is that I have adjusted and can’t imagine going back. I held off on writing about my experience until I had lived with it for a bit. Several weeks ago, I made the jump into the world of ultra-wide monitors.
